The Brewer’s Architect

Since 2010 Fusica has specialized in the design and construction of craft breweries.

John O’Connell began homebrewing at the same time he began to work professionally as an architect. His knowledge of the brewing process, equipment, along with his brewing awards and beer judging credits is on par with his architectural education and experience. In other words, he speaks the language of the brewer and understand’s their specific needs.

A Brewery’s Planner

From boutique taproom focused breweries to large manufacturing facilities we’ve given a personal experience to all our clients.

Breweries are unique spaces, part industrial manufacturing (brewery) and part community assembly area (tasting room). A design is successful when it accommodates the needs of both and finesses them into the client’s one vision. A build-out is successful when the brewery owner can communicate to the engineers, contractors, real estate brokers, as well as, federal, state and local officials, and Fusica is that conduit.

Craft Consultants

We insure the design of the brewing space is not just good for opening day but for future expansions.

Breweries are businesses long before they are buildings and long after they’ve exceeded capacity. Fusica has helped many clients early on by visiting potential sites to evaluate suitability, research potential hurdles and taste product under consideration. We pride ourselves on anticipating future requirements and incorporate that into initial designs. Placement of the equipment needed at opening is chosen with consideration of expansion without the need for shut down.
